PLEASURE PIER features waterfront fun and entertain- ment with a family-friendly amusement park, which opened in 2012, that includes rides, midway games, a wide selection of food venues and retail shops. ■ THE GALVESTON STRAND HISTORIC DISTRICT showcases Victorian architecture from the 1800s and is home to an array of art galleries and art-related retail stores, as well as several museums. Nearby, the Post Office Street Arts and Entertainment District is known for its antique and art galleries, and Pier 21 with its daily show- ings of "The Great Storm of 1900." ■ At the TEXAS SEAPORT MUSEUM , attendees can learn about the history of the area as they walk the decks of the 1877 tall ship Elissa.
