The full-service, 92,000-square-foot meeting facility will be located overlooking the scenic Ohio River in historic downtown Owensboro. The multi-purpose center will offer a 44,000-square-foot exhibition hall, and 30,000 square feet of addi- tional ballroom and meeting space. The center will be attached to a Hampton Inn that will also be open- ing in 2013. Meanwhile, downtown Owensboro is currently undergoing renovations with old buildings receiving facelifts and businesses relocating to down- town. Wells Says 'Northern' Groups Will Love Louisiana Governor Makes CVB Name Change Official BATON ROUGE—In May, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal signed house bill 414 to officially change the name of the Baton Rouge Area Convention and Visi- tors Bureau (CVB) to Visit Baton Rouge. The name Visit Baton Rouge has been used unofficially since 2006. "The name has a more direct impact on what we are trying to do. She joins the 317-room beachfront resort as Sales Manager, where she is responsible for handling the group market in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and South Central regions. The resort has also completed significant renovations to guest rooms and suites; a renovated golf course; a renovated and expanded Sunset Beach Bar & Grill; and the addition of a new pool complex. "Wonderful Life" is the resort's current promotional campaign for group contracts signed by Sept. 30, 2012.
