From the Atlanta Ballet and Georgia Symphony Orchestra to the High Museum of Art, the city is full of diverse options. Situated in the heart of Atlanta's Midtown area, the historic Fox Theatre is a must- see as one of the city's premiere venues for live entertainment. The theater has remained true to its 1920s design with domes, minarets and an Arabian sky full of stars. Along with a full calendar of shows and events, groups can take a guided tour of the Southeast's largest movie palace and get a glimpse of the Fox's unique his- tory through the Golden Age of Hollywood to the present. Sports Georgia enjoys a generally mild climate that sup- ports a wide array of sports year-round. Located in Cobb County outside of Atlanta, SunTrust Park is the state's newest professional ballpark and home to the Atlanta Braves Major League Baseball team. The destination is a first of its kind, bringing together a state-of-the-art ballpark with a mul- tiuse development that offers plenty of restaurants and entertainment. Golf aficionados are familiar with the Augusta National Golf Club, the location of the Masters Tournament, one of four major golf tournaments played in the United States. Groups can take in one of the 22 race tracks and drag strips located across the state including the Atlanta Motor Speedway, Road Atlanta, Atlanta Dragway, Dixie Speedway and Roebling Road Raceway. Outdoor Fun Georgia is not short on variety when it comes to outdoor enter- tainment. Home to more than 60 state parks and historic sites, and 13 major lakes, the state offers everything from marshes, beaches and mountains to waterfalls and lakes. Groups will find plenty of outdoor rec- reation offerings in the North Georgia Mountains, including white-water rafting adventures on the Chattooga River, part of the National Wild and Scenic River System. For a more relaxing adventure, groups can take a three- to four-hour float down Georgia's beautiful Ocmulgee River in Monticello. n City Map Location Page Albany.....................................................
