Encompassing 400 miles of cavernous adventure, the national park is also home to sprawling park trails — including hiking, biking and horse trails — and places for canoeing and kayaking. For those with a touch of claustrophobia, Hidden River Caves provides a respite at its American Cave Museum, a state- of-the-art showcase of underground natural history. Visitors can take in education exhibits detailing cave Karst Geology, formations, the history of caving and cave wildlife. Lifing Spirits The Kentucky Bourbon Trail is one of the highlights of the state, offering an inside look at famous distilleries such as Jim Beam, Maker's Mark, Wild Turkey and more. Ten distilleries provide more than enough enjoy- ment for the avid bourbon enthu- siast and a bourbon "passport" ensures visitors can pick up mem- orabilia along the way. Tour-bus services are available for groups and most distilleries can provide a guided behind-the-scenes look at bourbon crafting and exclu- sive tastings. Historic distilleries built in the early 1900s showcase unique architecture and a rare look into the region's past. River Adventure The Belle of Louisville takes riders on a historic trek through Louisville from the vantage point of the Ohio River. The Belle is an antebellum steamboat-style ship that not only transports her passengers down the river but also back into the history of the Old South. Built in 1914, the ship has modern amenities to ensure a comfortable ride for any group or special event, including weddings, reunions and corporate outings. The Spirit of Jefferson also offers riverboat trips down the Ohio River. n 49 A B C D E F G H I 1 2 3 4 Ashland................................
