Elvis Presley's Graceland recently completed a $135-million dollar expansion of the 120-acre campus that includes a new AAA Four Di- amond 450-room resort, The Guest House at Graceland, featuring 25,600 square feet of meeting, theater and pre-function space. Just across the street from the hotel is the all new Elvis Presley's Memphis entertain- ment and exhibit complex, which offers multiple special event and meeting spaces, including a 20,000-square-foot column-free room known as The Soundstage, which can be used for a variety of setups and hosts up to 1,800 seated guests for a performance. The space is also excellent as a trade show floor, according to the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB). "This massive expansion, the largest since Graceland opened to the public in 1982, now allows Graceland the flexibility to host daytime events," said Kevin Kern, vice president, communications, for Memphis CVB. "Pre- viously, the special events team was limited to after-hours events, so this is a great new addition." When booking an event at the venue, meeting planners can make their guests feel like rock stars with the ultimate Elvis experience by including a private after-hours tour of Graceland Mansion. "Mansion tours are self-guided audio tours that allow guests to proceed at their own pace and usually last between 45 minutes to an hour," Kern explained. "After the tour, shuttles deliver guests back to the Elvis Presley's Memphis entertainment complex to visit additional attractions or to one of the on-site venues for fabulous food and libations. You can bet on world famous Memphis BBQ being one of the dining options of the menu." Kern noted that the Guest House at Graceland's meticulously crafted group facilities stand as proud stewards of the world-revered Elvis and Graceland brands. "The resort hotel offers ample room to ac- commodate groups up to 1,800 persons, with state-of-the-art amenities for conferences, meetings, corporate events and more. The Guest House includes a variety of flexible and unique venues to host nearly any event, large or small." The largest space at The Guest House is the 11,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom, which is ideal for hosting conventions, corporate meetings, weddings or other large gatherings. This space is divisible into five separate meeting rooms, from 4,700 square feet to a more intimate 929 square feet. "Additional meeting spaces—named Blues, Country, Gospel and Rock for the four major Music Halls of Fame to which Elvis was elected—provide the right environment to get your team in harmony," Kern said. To further draw distinction from the inimitable heritage and history of Elvis' Graceland, planners can also book The Guest House at Graceland's impressive 464-seat theater for unforgettable keynote addresses, signature presentations, private entertainment or ceremonies. n B R E A K O U T S P O T L I G H T : Memphis Contact: www.memphistravel.com/ meeting-planners Memphis CVB The Guesthouse at Graceland Rock and Soul Memphis Music Hall of Fame
