A new Home2Suites is set to open in spring 2018. Owensboro The fourth largest city in Kentucky, Owensboro is centrally located in the Midwest and ready to welcome groups for events and meetings with world class attractions and ample hotel and event space, according to Visit Owensboro. Situated on the Ohio River, the city has many parks and event venues that take advantage of river views, including the full-service Owens- boro Convention Center, an anchor of the city's downtown. The multipurpose facility has 92,000 square feet of space, including a 44,000-square- foot exhibit hall and 48,000 additional square feet of ballroom and meeting space. Also downtown, Riverpark Center is a performing arts facility with a 1,500-seat auditorium and six spaces for receptions, dinners, or meetings. The Owensboro Sportscenter is a 5,000-seat arena with additional space for trade shows, meetings, and receptions. Downtown hotels include the 150-suite Hamp- ton Inn & Suites, a LEED-certified hotel adjacent to the convention center with three meeting rooms and the 123-room Holiday Inn Owensboro Riverfront, with executive meeting space and a ten-person boardroom. Other hotels with meeting space for between 30 and 60 people include a 109-room Courtyard by Marriott, 63-room Com- fort Suites, 100-room Fairfield Inn, and 64-room Sleep Inn. Other event venues are at Brescia University, which can host up to 160, and Kentucky Wes- leyan College, which has banquet space for up to 500 people. Mount St. Joseph Conference and Retreat Center offers limited lodging and can host up to 115 in the dining hall and up to 200 in meeting rooms. Hopkinsville Hopkinsville has a new welcome center for visitors, according to Tiffany Quebe with Visit Hopkinsville, the Hopkinsville-Christian County CVB. "Our new Visitors Center is home to Visit Hopkinsville and is truly the doorbell of our community." The community can host groups of up to 3,000, according to the CVB. The largest space is the James E. Bruce Convention Center, with 7,230 square feet of meeting and exhibit space. A newly opened event venue, Black Patch Steak & Seafood, has meeting space for up to 80 people. Valor Hall, located just outside the gates to Fort Campbell military base, has 10,000 square feet of meeting space and a 6,000-square-foot glass-en- closed pre-function room. Burdoc Farms in nearby Crofton, has a variety of spaces for events with 10 acres of trails for team building functions. Event facilities also are available at Hopkinsville Community College (with classrooms and other spaces available for up to 150 people) and at the Hop- kinsville campus of Murray State Uni- versity, which can host up to 200. Hotels with meeting space include a 101-room Holiday Inn, with a 3,360-square-foot meeting room for up to 300 people and a 71-room Hamp- ton Inn & Suites, with a 720-square-foot event room. A new 88-suite TownPlace Suites with a small meeting room that can seat up to 20, opens in late 2017. Nearby, Pennyrile Forest State Park has 24 lodge rooms, 12 cottages, two meeting rooms that can accommodate between 30 and 120 people. A private dining room can seat up to 80. Bowling Green Bowling Green, home to the National Corvette Museum, offers planners a variety of options with several new or recently renovated hotels and event venues, according to Marissa Butler, mar- keting director for the Bowling Green Area CVB. Changes at the National Corvette Museum's Motorsports Park have "supercharged" meetings in Bowling Green, she said.
