St. Louis, Missouri "We see a lot of groups holding conventions or meetings here who are looking for a get- away, a place to decompress after a meeting and we have a lot of great music venues that serve that need," says Anthony Paraino, director of communication for Visit St. Louis. There are more than 70 live performances every week in and around the city that cross all genres, from blues and jazz to country and rock and roll to indie bands – there are a lot of popular cover bands that perform around town as well. The city also hosts several music festivals throughout the year. The National Blues Museum, which opened in 2016 just steps from the conven- tion center, celebrates the history of the blues and offers live performances. Addtionally, Blues Triangle features three clubs where people can hear authentic blues from some of the nation's best blues artists. Local Notes: The newly renovated and remodeled Ferring Jazz Bistro, part of the new Harold & Dorothy Steward Center for Jazz in Grand Center presents the the award-winning Jazz St. Louis concert series in an intimate, com- fortable listening room, with reserved seating at tables that boast thrilling sound and outstanding sight lines.
