Start from a central location and anchor several strands of lights together from one location on the ceiling. Then drape each strand outward to points on the wall to create an arched, tent effect. You'll want your power source to stem from the central location. Use string lights with "Edison bulbs" for a more vintage, festive feel. To further create that outdoor feel, line the room with potted evergreen trees or spiral topiaries using faux garland. ■ To make faux garland topiaries, we found this DIY blog: h ttp:// h ub- pag e s. co m/ h ub/H o w-t o - M a ke -Y o u r -Ow n - Outsta n d in g-Outd oor - Chri stmas-D ecor at ion s Idea Example Shared By The Classic Center in Athens, Ga. Spotlight The Focal Points For A Picture-Perfect Glow For a subtle glow during low-lit events, illumi- nate the tabletop flower centerpieces with LED accent lights located in the glass vases and/or using spotlights shining down on the centerpieces. You can also find pre-lit faux flowers for a similar effect. These glowing centerpieces create an ener- getic vibrancy to dark rooms, are great for pictures and provide table lighting for guests. ■ Idea Example Shared By Cahaba Grand Conference Center in Birmingham, Ala. 08-26 CS FEB 2014_Layout 1 1/31/14 3:45 PM Page 14
