Meet At The Marina & Taxi Over To The Beach A SunStream Hotels and Resorts property, the 263-room Resort at Marina Village earned its Florida Green Lodging certificate this past year, according to Michelle Phillips, communications specialist. The property is located in Cape Coral near Fort Myers and offers 25,000 square feet of event space for groups of up to 400. A full- service marina is available for guests offering boat rentals, fishing, sightseeing tours or complimentary water taxi service to Fort Myers Beach. Advertise Contact Guests Get An In-Room 'Beach Butler' Already certified by the Florida Green Lodging program, the 121-room DiamondHead Beach Resort and Spa is another SunStream property located in Fort Myers Beach. The property invested $250,000 in cosmetic enhancements in 2011 and offers 8,000 square feet of meeting space. Guest rooms come equipped with a virtual concierge program that allows them to search for nearby hot spots, order room service, check-in to flights and print boarding passes. Must Eat! On the dinner menu at the Keylime Bistro at the Captiva Island Inn is a Key Lime Pasta with tips of black Angus beef sauté ed with green and red bellpeppers, diced tomatoes and grilled onion over penne pasta finished with swiss and parmesan cheeses. Finish it off with a slice of Key Lime Pie! ■ What's Not New At The Pink Shell? The 216-room Pink Shell Beach Resort and Spa on Fort Myers Beach made a number of enhancements last year, including adding new high-definition flat-screen TVs in all rooms, a new RFID lock systems with wrist bands property-wide, new clock radios with iPod docking stations, new DVD players in all rooms, and a new game room, according to Director of Sales and Marketing Ellis Etter. And, Etter said the property has more upgrades planned this year, including enhancements to the Capitva Ballroom that will include new tile, carpet, shutters, omelet station and dining tables. The resort houses more than 8,200 square feet of indoor space that includes the new 3,100-square-foot Grand Ballroom overlooking the beach. ■ 2Sun-Infused Meeting Sites Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa The 347-room Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort and Spa is set to undergo a $5 million renovation this year, according to Tamara Pigott of the Lee County Visitor and Convention Bureau. The effort will en- compass the lobby and front desk, Tarpon House restaurant, Charlie's Cabana bar, the spa, meeting rooms and prefunction space and guest rooms in the Sanibel Tower. The property houses 45,000 square feet of meeting space. Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa Just south of Fort Myers in Bonita Springs, the www.con v entionsouth.com 454-room Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa offers 75,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space and will embark on a full guest room renovation beginning in July. According to Erin Flanagan, business/leisure travel sales manager, the renovation will include modern-day furnishings and new technology. "Our spacious outdoor areas are a prime setting for night events offering the beautiful resort settings as well as displaying the natural south- west Florida landscape," Flanagan added. The resort's largest ballroom can accommodate up to 1,500. ■ Teach your group how to sail at one of the two Colgate Off- shore Sailing Schools in the area: one at South Seas Re- sort on Captiva Island and one at the Pink Shell Resort on Fort Myers Beach.
