Memphis CVB folks are all abuzz about the many exciting things going on in the Bluff City this year, including the new 436-passenger steamboat American Queen. The boat made the newly-developed Beale Street Landing dock its home port this spring. The rest of Beale Street Landingʼs first phase should open this summer with a riverfront restaurant. The landing and the new steamboat just adds to the Mississippi River Blues-styled ex-
citement that attendees can experience while meeting in Memphis. "Weʼre having one of our best convention years ever," exclaimed Memphis CVB Execu-
tive Vice President/COO John Oros. "The Memphis music scene gives the city a kind of a sizzle that visitors from all over the world want to experience. Thereʼs no street in the country like Beale Street. Memphis is a special and unique place for a business meeting. And weʼre one of the few CVBs in the country that manages their convention center. Now, the sales and marketing arm of the CVB is in lockstep with the efforts of our primary con- vention facility." ■
