In an effort to keep up with demand and accommodate the needs of large regional and national conferences, the facility is undergoing a major $16 million expansion that will add 25,000 square feet of newly con- structed meeting space, 12,000 square feet of new pre-function space and a new 5,000-square-foot catering kitchen. The renewed facility will offer 75,000 square feet of adaptable meeting space overall when it reopens in early-2018. Being rechristened simply the Florence Center, the venue's new spaces will include a new ballroom and an outdoor terrace. The facility's existing ballroom, meeting rooms and lobby are undergoing renovations during the process. "The venue itself is also growing during this major expansion and remodel which is currently underway and nearly completed," said Paul Beard, general manager, SMG Florence Center. "Meeting plan- ners love our adaptable rooms, world-class catering, professional event support and robust marketing aids. We are neighbors with several hotels offering a combined 1,700+ hotel rooms in walking distance, plus many dining options, shopping strips and the region's premier retail mall. But if you want to venture out a bit, then just hop on one of the free shuttles to explore more of Florence." The renewed venue's assets also include onsite meeting planners and event managers, high speed Wi-Fi and 2,250 complimentary onsite parking spots. The Florence Center is also home to a 10,000-seat arena that hosts a wide variety of concerts and live entertainment shows each year. Entertainers ranging from the likes of Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson, and Toby Keith, to Mary J Blige, Casting Crowns and George Lopez have performed here, as well as shows like Disney on Ice, Monster Jam, rodeos and Cirque du Soleil. n B R E A K O U T S P O T L I G H T : Florence Center Contact:
