Its meetings profile has been rising in recent years thanks to 400,000 square feet of meeting space and more than 3,500 hotel rooms, with more on the way. "No two destinations are alike but some are more alike than others," said Patricia Byrd, sales manager for the Spartanburg CVB. "There's only one Downtown Spartanburg. Home to the state of South Carolina's first AC Hotel by Marriott and dozens of authen- tic, locally owned restaurants and businesses. There's only one Croft State Park, home to dozens of miles of mountain biking and hiking trails. There's only one Downtown Landrum, a movie-set-worthy downtown in the middle of horse country. There's only one BMW Perfor- mance Center, a place where you can drive the finest automobiles really fast on a test track. What sets Spartanburg apart? Everything. That's why our tagline is 'There's Only One. Spartanburg.'" The new and planned hotels arising in Spartanburg are helping to maintain increased attention on the city as a meeting spot. The 10-story AC Hotel Spartanburg is scheduled to open in November and will feature a breakfast kitchen, a dinner lounge and a rooftop bar. Due to open in 2018 are two new properties in Spartanburg's WestGate section. The 116-room Hilton Garden Inn Spartanburg will be located at the WestGate Towncenter and the 106-room Residence Inn Spartanburg WestGate in the same area will feature rooms with full kitchens. Spartanburg Meeting Space: • Spartanburg Marriott: 27,000 square feet of meeting space; 28 meeting rooms; three boardrooms • Summit Pointe Conference & Events Cen- ter: 19,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space; connected to the 126-room Hampton Inn & Suites Spartanburg • Memorial Auditorium: auditorium has capacity for 3,200; arena can accommodate 1,500. n Collaborate & Connect Plan your next meeting on Hilton Head Island
