"This takes loads of coordina- tion between the meeting planner, destination marketing organization and venue to ensure the service provided meets expectations." As these trends become more mainstream, Robinette emphasized that venues and desti- nations will need to address safety protocols. For example, Emergency Action Plans should include line items for meetings with children: lost-child protocols, CPR for children and how to lead children in an emergency. Looking ahead, family-friendly groups will increasingly demand customized, value-driven experiences, Robinette said. Forward-thinking venues and destinations will look for opportu- nities to expand offerings to appeal to families through investments in more onsite entertain- ment, discounted or free shuttle services and discounts to attractions. n Cedar Falls in Petit Jean State Park near Morrilton, Ark.
