Another boutique hotel, Aparium Hotel in the Crossroads, will open in winter 2018 with 125 guest rooms, rooftop deck and meeting spaces. Several hotels have opened or completed renovations this past year: The Fontaine (for- merly Hotel Sorella) has 132 guest rooms and more than 7,200 square feet of function space. A $15 million project at the historic Ambas- sador Hotel has added 70 guest rooms. The hotel's Grand Ballroom can host up to 120 for receptions. Other hotels with upgrades include Hotel Phillips Kansas City, Curio Collection by Hil- ton, with 217 guest rooms, 7,000 square feet of function space and a new $20 million reno- vation, and the Hilton President, the only hotel in the city's Power & Light District, which completed a $5 million update including new technology and lobby upgrades. The Hilton President has 213 guest rooms and more than 12,000 square feet of event space. Kansas City's Crown Center features more than 50 shops, restaurants, theaters, family en- tertainment at LEGOLAND Discovery Center, Sea Life Aquarium and the Hallmark Visitors Center, along with two connected hotels: the 734-room Sheraton Kansas City at Crown Cen- ter and the 724-room Westin Kansas City at Crown Center. The two hotels share more than 150,000 square feet of meeting space, includ- ing a 50,000-square-foot exhibit hall, and can host groups of up to 1,200 guests. The Crown Center is connected to Kansas City's historic Union Station, which houses additional shops and attractions and serves as a railway station for Amtrak. The hotel features 18 breakout rooms and venues that provide expansive views of the Arch, downtown, the Mississip- pi River and the surrounding parks. "As the closest hotel to the Gateway Arch grounds, we are thrilled to have a front-row seat to the Arch and the parks and look for- ward to the opening this July," said Jennifer Byrnes, director of sales and marketing at Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch. "In addition to the new Visitors Center, expanded museum and other exciting new attractions at the Arch, the expanded park spaces will be hosting many community events in the years to come, which means more for our guests and event attendees to enjoy right outside our door." According to the hotel, event space includes the 19,758-square-foot Grand Ballroom, the Regency Ballroom, with 16,800 square feet of function space, and the intimate 3,300-square-foot Park View room that overlooks the Arch.
